Technology Rules

Today is June 22, 2007. Lets go back in time. To May 12, 1943, 64 years ago. In that day, Z3, the first Programmable Computer was born, pioneered by Konrad Zuse, a German engineer. The Z3 was built with 2,000 relays, had a clock frequency of ~5–10 Hz, and a word length of 22 bits. Simple binary system was invented roughly three centuries earlier by Gottfried Leibniz; Boole later used it to develop his Boolean algebra. In 1937, Claude Shannon of MIT introduced the idea of mapping Boolean algebra onto electronic relays in a seminal work on digital circuit design. Nevertheless, Zuse (who did not know Shannon's work) was the one who put the ideas together and made it work on the program-controlled Z3. The first design of a program-controlled computer was Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine in the 1830s.

After that we have Atanasoff-Berry Computer (Summer 1941), Colossus (December 1943 / January 1944), Harvard Mark I - IBM ASCC (1944) and ENIAC (1944, 1948).

From all the above, ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer), is considered the first fist computer with the characteristics of a real computing machine. So in history, ENIAC is actually referred as the first computer. ENIAC was designed and built to calculate artillery firing tables for the U.S. Army's Ballistics Research Laboratory. The first problems run on the ENIAC however, were related to the design of the hydrogen bomb. The contract was signed on June 5, 1943 and Project PX was constructed by the University of Pennsylvania's Moore School of Electrical Engineering from July, 1943. It was unveiled on February 14, 1946 at Penn, having cost almost $500,000.

It contained 17,468 vacuum tubes, 7,200 crystal diodes, 1,500 relays, 70,000 resistors, 10,000 capacitors and around 5 million hand-soldered joints. It weighed 30 short tons (27 t), was roughly 8 feet (2.4 m) by 3 feet (0.9 m) by 100 feet (30 m), took up 1800 square feet (167 m²), and consumed 150 kW of power. Input was possible from an IBM card reader, while an IBM card punch was used for output. These cards could be used to produce printed output offline using an IBM accounting machine, probably the IBM 405. ENIAC used ten-position ring counters to store digits; each digit used 36 tubes, 10 of which were the dual triodes making up the flip-flops of the ring counter.

Arithmetic was performed by "counting" pulses with the ring counters and generating carry pulses if the counter "wrapped around", the idea being to emulate in electronics the operation of the digit wheels of a mechanical adding machine. ENIAC had twenty ten-digit signed accumulators that used ten's complementdouble precision arithmetic but the accumulator carry circuit timing prevented the wiring of three or more for higher precision. The ENIAC used four of the accumulators controlled by a special Multiplier unit and could perform 385 multiplication operations per second.

The ENIAC used five of the accumulators controlled by a special Divider/Square-Rooter unit and could perform forty division operations per second or three square root operations per second. The other nine units in ENIAC were the Initiating Unit (started and stopped the machine), the Cycling Unit (synchronized the other units), the Master Programmer (controlled "loop" sequencing), the Reader (controlled an IBM punch card reader), the Printer (controlled an IBM punch card punch), the Constant Transmitter, and three Function Tables.

The basic machine cycle was 200 microseconds (20 cycles of the 100 kHz clock in the cycling unit), or 5,000 cycles per second for operations on the 10-digit numbers. In one of these cycles, ENIAC could write a number to a register, read a number from a register, or add/subtract two numbers. A multiplication of a 10-digit number by a d-digit number (for d up to 10) took d+4 cycles, so a 10- by 10-digit multiplication took 14 cycles, or 2800 microseconds—a rate of 357 per second. If one of the numbers had fewer than 10 digits, the operation was faster. Division and square roots took 13(d+1) cycles, where d is the number of digits in the result (quotient or square root). So a division or square root took up to 143 cycles, or 28,600 microseconds—a rate of 35 per second. If the result had fewer than ten digits, it was obtained faster.

An average computer knowledge is enough to compare ENIAC with today's Computers (PC or MAC).

Today we have Multi-Touch screen coffee table from Microsoft designed to do away with the need for a traditional mouse and keyboard, users can instead use their fingers to operate the computer. See how lazy-ass we have become?! Those days they had to walk through different rooms to program the computers and now we don't even have to tire our hands, everything is done by moving our fingers! We can order our coffee, pay our bills, play movies and even buy our hand phone using the table!

From the other side, another computer giant, Apple, introduces iPhone to the market-another multi touch screen enabled computer.

We will we be in another 10 years? People will have computers working by them thinking of something (These computers exist, but not everyone is able to buy them). See, you won't even have to move your fingers. lie down on your bed and think!

Walking In The Rainy Night

How does it feel when you see yourself walking in the middle of two couples in the rain? When you and your world are alone. When you can't think of any thing else other than you, your faith, your future, your luck?!

Its you, and the rain, the trees and the earth. You try to think of something else. something other than loneliness...What about The Equivalent Principal? Do you really think two things with two different masses reach the ground at the same time? What about me and my friends? We are same! So whats Galileo's answer to this question? Or I have to ask Sir Isaac Newton? I think Einstein would give me a better dramatic answer!

So you try to observe the rain the rain drops falling one after each other. They try to reach the earth. Then they just tear into smaller drops when they collide the ground. Look at the trees, how lucky they feel they are, under the rain, taking free shower blessed by the sky's sadness.

You go to a bar, somewhere near the nowhere land of Islamic Vegas. People asking about your mood and you just stay silent. Not knowing what you have to tell them? What about telling them you are thinking how to write a Blog about today? But no, I have to tell in the way that no one gets to know whats going on inside me! So lets tell them you are thinking how to design your new web site. Yea, that sounds great and professional. So lets lie to the crowd. Lets hide everything from everyone. How long you are gonna hide your feelings? How long you want to lie to yourself? You wanna die with your dead feelings?

There is something, humans call it pride! Its totally dangerous for them, for their relations. But sometimes they have that poison in their blood. A poison which has no cure other than the humans themselves. So I don't know how long i have to resist it. Its gonna contaminate my whole body in a very soon future. I'm fighting with it actually but it seems to be taking over more day after day and finally it will kill the said-to-be Love in my heart. I haven't seen my love or a long time now. hoping for a help. Or maybe I myself don't wanna accept helps! They are so many around me but my logic simply doesn't let them in. So do I have to fight with my logic?
I don't know what to do. you have to understand. And when the night falls down to me, i on't think I can make it through!

The Smart System Need to Recover

Knowing The Smart system quite well, it is also could assumed that The Smart, has the ability to recognize and defeat any new threat which is now allowed to get into its system.
In this new post a new part of the Smart is introduced. The unit HT86, current version software installed on this unit is v20.5.2. This unit along with the software installed on it has the function of analyze the Top Secret data stored in the memory. It also has a small cache itself to store the importers of the data. Its cache it ultra sensitive to any new entry and any attack from the outside. The other functions of HT86 are not to be discussed here!

HT86 has been accepting some new threats. The programmer of this threats is AUY. The threats are violating one of the basic laws which says that any new attack in the form LV00 should be avoided. The attack is exactly the same and is upgrading itself to LV02 which is extremely dangerous if it reaches the LV10.

Lets talk about the LV threat family. LV attacks the HT unit in any Smart and has the ability to take into control the whole HT and damage the CPU, to the extent that can make the Smart system no-more smart.

LV attack has the form LV-X which is not dangerous by itself and in fact very welcomed. But if LV-X gets to upgrade itself to attack HT, it can actually generate LV00 initially that is a yellow degree threat.

Its also good to introduce you to another Type of Smart systems. The Smart Systems generally have two classes Smart-X and Smart-Y, distinguished by their physical structure and the software installed on their CPU. The Smart which is being discussed is Type Smart-X.

Lately, our Smart system system has been attacked by an Smart-Y targeting its HT86 unit with LV00. Its on the stage of defending itself against the attack....

Sinister Day

My day started at 2:00pm! An SMS alert shattered my dream. A dream of unknown.
As soon as I woke up, I logged in to my Yahoo! account to check for new messages, then Orkut and MySpace. No new message! I actually expected at least one from a special person.
I looked into the fridge; nothing there! Decided to have the simplest men's food, omelet with plane rice left out form yesterday's lunch I guess. I waited and wasted too much time for my friend to wake up, surfing the net, which was all useless at the end of the day.

I decided to sleep again at 6:00pm just like my friend told me while he was sleep talking. I slept and I woke up at 10:00 having my teeth prints on my arms! My friend woke up with a dead myriapod on his palm. Later said he had a nightmare too!

He called his girlfriend and we decided to go out for dinner. When we stepped out of the house, we saw lizards all over the walls. We went down to the street, dragon-flies were flying with their phantom like sound. We went to the Kuala Lumpur airport for dinner. We had our food and while coming back, the flying creatures were striking to the front windows one after another, their body vanishing on the window!

We were so close to home that we say crawls gathering on the street in the groups of 2 or 3, and kind of blocking the street. there was so many of them. So many. But we never heard any sound coming out from them! They were silent! i have absolutely no explanation for their silence.

There was something wrong with me also. My heart status was not showing what it was suppose to show! My deep heart was not functioning as it was determined to. I tried to fix it. I don't think i was successful!

You know what? Today was one of those days!

Does The Equivalant Principal still Hold good? What if Not?

Standing on the Moon in 1971, Apollo 15 astronaut Dave Scott held his hands out at shoulder height, a hammer in one hand and a feather in the other. And as the world looked on via live television, he let go.

see captionIt was an odd sight: the feather didn't drift to the ground, it plummeted, falling just as fast as the hammer. Without air resistance to slow the feather, the two objects hit moondust at the same instant.

"What do you know!" exclaimed Scott. "Mr. Galileo was right."

Scott was referring to a famous experiment of the 16th century. Depending on who tells the story, Galileo Galilei either dropped balls from the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa or he rolled balls down slopes at home. Either way, the result was the same: Although the balls were made of different materials, they all reached bottom at the same time.

Today, this is known as "the equivalence principle." Gravity accelerates all objects equally regardless of their masses or the materials from which they are made. It's a cornerstone of modern physics.

But what if the equivalence principle (EP) is wrong?

Galileo's experiments were only accurate to about 1%, leaving room for doubt, and skeptical physicists have been "testing EP" ever since. The best modern limits, based on, e.g., laser ranging of the Moon to measure how fast it falls around Earth, show that EP holds within a few parts in a trillion (1012). This is fantastically accurate, yet the possibility remains that the equivalence principle could fail at some more subtle level.

This new facet of gravity, if it exists, would be so astonishingly weak that detecting it is a tremendous challenge. Gravity itself is a relatively weak force—it's a trillion trillion trillion (1036) times more feeble than electromagnetism. Theorists believe the new force would be at least ten million million (1013) times weaker than gravity.

Just as magnetism acts on objects made of iron but not plastic, the new force wouldn't affect all matter equally. The force's pull would vary depending on what the object is made of.

For example, some versions of string theory suggest that this new force would interact with the electromagnetic energy contained in a material. Two atoms that have the same mass can contain different amounts of electromagnetic energy if, say, one has more protons, which have an electric charge, while the other has more neutrons, which have no charge. Traditional gravity would pull on both of these atoms equally, but if gravity includes this new force, the pull on these two atoms would differ ever so slightly.

No experiment to date has detected this tiny difference. But now three groups of scientists are proposing space-borne missions that would hunt for this effect with greater sensitivity than ever before.

"What you want to do is take two test masses made of different materials and watch for very small differences in how fast they fall," Will says. "On Earth, an object can only fall for a short time before it hits the ground. But an object in orbit is literally falling around the Earth, so it can fall continuously for a long time." Tiny differences in the pull of gravity would accumulate over time, perhaps growing large enough to be detectable.

see captionOne test mission, called the Satellite Test of the Equivalence Principle (STEP), is being developed by Stanford University and an international team of collaborators. STEP would be able to detect a deviation in the equivalence principle as small as one part in a million trillion (1018). That's 100,000 times more sensitive than the current best measurement.

STEP's design uses four pairs of test masses instead of just one pair. The redundancy is to ensure that any difference seen in how the test masses fall is truly caused by a violation of the equivalence principle, and not by some other disturbance or imperfection in the hardware.

"When trying to measure such a miniscule effect, you have to eliminate as many external disturbances as possible," Will explains. STEP's design places the test masses inside a large tank of liquid helium to insulate them from external temperature fluctuations, and surrounds the masses with a superconducting shell to shield them from magnetic and electrical interference. Microthrusters counteract the effects of atmospheric drag on the orbiting satellite, making the free fall of the test masses nearly perfect.

In this pristine environment, each pair of test masses should stay perfectly aligned with each other as they fall around the Earth—that is, if the equivalence principle holds. But if this new component of gravity does exist, one test mass will fall at a slightly different rate than its partner, so the pair will drift slightly out of alignment over time.

Currently, STEP is still in the design phase. Another satellite-based experiment, the French-developed Micro-Satellite à traînée Compensée pour l'Observation du Principe d'Equivalence (MICROSCOPE), is scheduled to launch in 2010. MICROSCOPE will have two pairs of test masses instead of four, and will be able to detect a violation of the equivalence principle as small as one part in a million billion (1015).

The third experiment is the Italian satellite Galileo Galilei ("GG" for short), which will operate in much the same way as STEP and MICROSCOPE, except that it uses only one pair of test masses. To improve its accuracy, the Galileo Galilei satellite will spin about its central axis at a rate of 2 rotations per second. That way, any disturbances within the spacecraft will pull in all directions equally, thus canceling themselves out. The experiment should be able to achieve a sensitivity of one part in a hundred million billion (1017).

Whether any of these missions stand a chance of detecting a violation of the equivalence principle is hard to say. Will says that he expects the experiments won't find any deviation, in part because finding one would be such a major revolution for modern physics. And string theory makes a range of predictions about how strong this new force would be, so it's possible that the effect would be too small for even these space-borne instruments to detect.

Finding no deviation would still be helpful: it would rule out some variants of string theory, inching physicists toward the correct "Theory of Everything." But finding a deviation, however small, would be a giant leap.

Are you LOST?

I woke up at 5:00 am today. Pretty early for me. Friends were watching Lost 2nd season DVD. So I also sat and watched with them. You know there is something about Lost. Have you ever realized that the writers of this adventurous series are actually making us, the viewers as laboratory mice after a cheese which doesn't even exists. My other friends who have watched the end of Lost season 3, say it ends with nothing! So are we watching this series for Nothing?! We have other series like Prison Break which are adventurous and at least REAL!

I'm not telling you not to watch it, in fact I'm one of the biggest fans of Lost. It keeps your mind active, and brighten your imagination and detective senses. But one should not expect to understand everything at the end, cause there won't be any scientific explanation for the events in this series.

The series teaches us how to behave in different situations and how other people will react for what we do. It teaches us that everything that happens, happens for a reason. A reason unknown to ourselves but it affects our surrounding. It also helps "Jack" to find more Lovers around the globe to make online communities for him..He He

I do appreciate the writers of Lost for the work they have done. For letting us enjoy our time on TV and for helping the advertisers to have their most selling stuff ads during the series is broadcast.and hope they write more of this stuff.

Well I've taken some decisions about the Blog. To make my Blog more scientific, I'm gonna talk about all the scientific aspects of life. Health, that includes sex(first priority), drugs and diseases.
other aspects of a scientist's life such as Computers, Space, Technology, Books.

It takes time for my Blog to become popular but I see a day which my Blog will be useful for everyone on this planet, so called earth.

About Internet Security

Well. I'm gonna come up with my own ideas about different Internet Security softwares available in the market.

Here I'm gonna compare ZoneAlarm, Kaspersky, NOD32, BitDefender and AVG

If you are a kind of person who concerns about your computer's security, and you are an average user, this blog has easy-to-get information. You also might have come across different web sites which write reviews about the softwares. I used to trust those, I still do. The fact is those websites are sponsored by the developers of the hosted programs so to survive, they have to be careful.

Anyway, Lets start our comparison.

ZoneAlarm Intenet Security 2007:

ZoneLabs have come up with its best ever Internet Security software in 2007. I'm using it right now in my computer. Its so handy and has easy to configure interface. It is complete. It has taken into consideration all the ways your system could be attacked and has all the solutions to defend your computer.

Kaspersky Internet Security Suite 2007:

Its has a powerful Anti-virus engine which is updated each hour. That was the only thing I liked about Kaspersky. There are so many draw backs. It eventually slows down the Internet speed, because it checks each ant every Bit coming in or going out of your system, specially for the encrypted pages. It has so many problems with Ads as well. It blocks all unwanted and Wanted ads. Sometimes you need to see a clip or Ad, you have to disable the whole Ad-Blocking protection. If you are not lazy to add each website you wisit and want the Ads to be visited, then do it. No offense. I couldn't load Hotmail even by disabling the Ad-Blocking and adding Hotmail website to the Allowed list. I had to Close the Kaspersky!


Best Anti virus I have ever had. So effing light on resources and accurate in deed. Do i need to say more?


My advice to you is, try the trial version of it. If it worked, then buy the full version. It has hardware compatibility issues and doesn't work with all the hardware configurations. Its accurate but a bit heavy on resources. The accuracy of this Defender is outstanding.


I just never had a right feeling about this anti virus. Once i downloaded a Trojan to my desktop to test AVG, It showed nothing. Another time, It found a Trojan in my computer and it couldn't delete it. It kept popping-up a dialog box saying the virus can not be deleted or quarantined!! So annoying. Its easy on resources because it does nothing :D

That was all my personal experience. There are other software such as Norton 360 and McAfee. I'm still testing them. I'll write about them soon.

The Smart Infection

Exams over, holidays started last week. 6 days are past and they seem to be so lengthy in a sense that I've been finding out so many things these days. Too much of head scratching and mouth wide open keeping things happened. Details of the issues are not appropriate for under age!

The thing about writing blogs and publishing on net keeps my mind in busy mode. Cause there are so many things to say but there might be a few curious eyes and sniffing noses around. But the need of expression and being famusized, makes me post these blogs no the World Wide Web for the public view, keep telling my self no freaking one can interfere in my life. So listen...:)

Testing session finished, transporting medium was borrowed for a few hours to get the feeds. Not normal ones, feeds are kind of viruses or lets say malwares programed to infect the victim and paralyze the processor for a few hours depending on the dose and number of effective lines in the virus source code. The programs usually used have more than 40% effective lines. The processor is equipped with a certain intelligence that makes it self get used to viruses so that to stay unaffected on weakly coded viruses.

In this reality experiment there were a few more systems fed with the virus. One of the systems was in sleep mode. The others were networked in pairs. Another system was not in the network but had so many networking programs downloaded from the central network which all the other systems are directly connected to it with an advanced Wi-Fi technology that hasn't been introduced to the market yet.

The feeds were imported and fed to the processor with a special technique of "Self Termination". Usually intelligent organs and systems do not self terminate. The effect was observed within an hour time.

The dose was able to paralyze the processor and disconnect the memory from the system half an hour after the processor was affected(this wasn't suppose to happen)

The system which wasn't networked started sending acknowledge signals to its other counterparts, before the memory was disconnected from the operating unit. This was due to the infected processor. One of the paired systems started sending response signals with "On Air" technology, it disconnected itself from the other system and tried to connect to the alone one. The attempt was unsuccessful. The project experienced its first failure.

The system which wasn't networked didn't stop sending signals. This is the nature of intelligent processors with "SS"(SuperSmart) technology. It made another attempt. Sent signals to other networked computer. The other system sent responses. Smart system sent "Shake Hand" acknowledge signals. "shake hand" response was sent from the other computer. The affected system successfully disconnected itself form its pair and was also successfully connected to the Smart system. The memory unit was heavily affected by the virus and the merged virus from the other system. The merging of viruses form both newly connected, caused the Memory Unit to be detached from the Smart and the Victim.

Systems were connected for 45 minutes, maximum, with a mass data transformation using an advanced Peer-To-Peer technology on the speeds never experienced before.

After 45 minutes both systems experienced noise signals from the other affected systems. Data Overflow occurred. The systems were disconnected! This was not a failure. A success in fact.

The Smart system was heavily affected with the feed. The main operating system was experiencing hardware malfunction. The processor was 98% affected. The efficiency dropped down to 3%. The system faced a fatal error. System went to sudden hibernation, without taking back-up from the previous data. Though the fundamental data stayed intact. System vanished.

The Smart system was in hibernation for 3 hours. Other systems were still functional. After 3 hours, The processor recovered itself from the heavy dose and used the back-up data to restore its previous condition. Memory unit retrieved the data from the other systems to analyze the situation. Data recovered. Smart system was 88% functional...

It took 22 hours for the Smart system to recover the data and become 99.99% functional.

The project "Smart" is still in its testing and Beta level and is being evaluated by the Smart system itself...

Linux? Windows?

Ah, I know this isn't a new topic to talk about but I want to tell you guys about my own experience.

I've had my PC since 1994 and I've had all operating systems that you could imagine, except MAC. I've had all Microsoft operating systems since that time.

What I'm gonna say is that I tried to like Linux, I learned its commands and functions and everything. But when it came to practical use, Linux disappointingly failed.

After facing so many errors in installation and fixing them, I was able to run Linux in my computer. But first thing which annoyed me was that Linux doesn't support ".exe" format which is not a big issue, i could fix it with a program called Wine. And again in multimedia, I couldn't open a single song or video. It not my problem. Its my friends problem too.

The biggest problem is the hardware support. I had to change my graphics card to see Linux screen, If you have observed, Windows asks you a question after the installation of windows is finished, It will ask, If you are able to see the screen and will let you choose, Yes or No. In case you don't see the question, Windows will automatically switch to its standard graphics card mode and will let you configure your graphics card settings.

I faced this problem when i was trying to install Ubuntu Linux on my computer. I couldn't see anything but a blank screen. For this, i had to go to command mode and configure my graphics card and install its driver my self. But there was no support for my graphics adapter for Linux!
I had to go to my friend's place and run Ubuntu there. After running it, we faced the same problems i used to have with Fedora Core.

So people, please put your hands in your pockets and buy a non-free operating system like "OS X" or "Windows" for a few hundred dollars. You won't regret it. Besides, you will support the developers to make your life easier with better applications.

I don't hate Linux, but why i should write with my left hand when I'm more comfortable with my right hand? Hun? Think About it. Don't listen to people and never support anything blindly.

And let me tell you something. Linux is not more secure than Windows just because its not as handy as Windows. When Hackers want to hack into your system, they can hack into Linux easier because:
1) There is no good support for Linux Anti virus programs
2) Its an open source operating system which everyone have access to its codes

I'm sending a new post after a long time i guess.
Well there are things which should be kept as secret for public until everything is finished.
This journey is getting closer to its end and I'm gonna start a new one, well i learned a lot of things here. A new thing which i came to know it a few days ego and confirmed it with my friends speeches is that may be we don't know people around us. People are not as they show themselves to us. There is so much of complexity in human nature which I'm realizing. Sometimes trust is a must, and sometimes the opposite.

I learned to take life easier than it looks like. It will become easier if you want to. Its just a matter of your will. I used to doubt everything and everyone. But if thats the case, you can't carry on with your life. Take everything easy and what is supposed to happen will happen. This isn't against the believe that "We can make our lives as we want". What you want is what it is meant for you. Got my point? I mean, plan everything, but don't be strict to your plan. It may not always work because we can not predict anything.
